Sana Baban joined The Hastings Center in June 2023. She received her MBE from Harvard Medical School and BA in communication sciences and disorders from the University of South Florida.
During her time at the University of South Florida, she worked as a research coordinator at the Houston Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute focusing on dual smoking cessation and alcohol reduction and mindfulness-based interventions for caregivers of stem cell transplant patients. While pursuing her MBE, her capstone project focused on the challenges that surrogate decision-makers face in the hospital and explored whether a quality improvement approach could provide a practical avenue for medical institutions to resolve ethical issues.
