Lyn Traverse joined The Hastings Center as Director of Development in February, 2010. She began her career in fundraising at New York University, working in corporate and foundation relations and the capital campaign before continuing her development work in higher education in Connecticut at the University of Hartford and Saint Joseph College. Traverse has served as chief development officer and directed successful capital campaigns for a number of organizations including the Forman School, the Ethel Walker School and the Connecticut Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Prior to joining The Hastings Center she was Campaign Director for the Friends Seminary, a Quaker school in New York City. Traverse also served as Director of Development and Communications for Haskins Laboratories, a non-profit, independent institute, affiliated with Yale University and the University of Connecticut that conducts research on the biological bases of language. For several years she served as Director of Development of Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Ct.
Traverse studied philosophy at New York University and received her Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Connecticut in 1996.
